As specialist in swimming pools maintenance and projects, you are familiar with the industry guidelines and regulations.

As such, we would like to seek your kind advices on the recommended measures and steps to be taken in response to fecal and vomit incident in swimming pool in accordance to the industry regulations and guidelines.

Mr Chia,
Sorry for the late respond.

With referrence to your query, I like to bring you attention to NEA Code of Practise on Environmental Health >> Water Quality Standards for Swimming Pool >> Appendix 6 on Physical Quality
(a) The pool water shall be clear and clean. No scum or floating impurities shall be allowed to accumulate. The colour of the water shall not exceed 5 Hazen units and the turbidity shall not exceed 5 NTU.

The regulation does not affect home pool user but more for public pools, e.g.: condo.

The immediate action would be to clean the pool by removing the impurities out from the water by the means of vacuuming. Increase the disinfection by shocking your pool with higher dose of chlorine for a day. Maintain the water quality back to its normal state according to Appendix 6.

To reassure user to the pool, it is good to ask for a lab test report after the disinfection.
